The Recruiting System

The
Blueprint.

The process exists.
Most families
never find it.

Five phases. Every step from first contact to signed offer. Built for families who refuse to wait and hope. This is the system that gets athletes recruited.

01

Phase One

Getting
Started

Most families start this process too late. By then, half the spots at target programs are already gone. Phase 1 puts you ahead of the families who are still waiting.

What you will do

  • Understand eligibility rules and recruiting timelines by division
  • Build your target school list — the right way, at the right size
  • Research rosters before you contact a single coach
  • Register with the NCAA Eligibility Center
  • Set up your recruiting profile and athlete social media presence

Phase Two

Reaching
Out

Coaches are not always going to find your athlete. That is not how this works. Phase 2 teaches your family how to get in front of the right coaches — before anyone else does.

What you will do

  • Write emails that coaches actually read and respond to
  • Build a highlight reel that coaches watch past the first 30 seconds
  • Submit questionnaires strategically across your target list
  • Identify and attend the right showcases and ID camps
  • Use social media as a recruiting tool, not just a platform

Phase Three

Communication

A coach goes quiet. Most families panic or disappear. Neither is the right move. Phase 3 teaches you to read real interest, follow up professionally, and build relationships that lead to offers.

What you will do

  • Read the difference between real interest and polite interest
  • Follow up after ID camps and showcases — the step most families skip
  • Handle the silence without going silent yourself
  • Navigate unofficial and official campus visits
  • Know where you stand on a coach’s list — or how to find out

Phase Four

The
Offer

An offer is not the finish line. Families who do not understand this lose offers they should have kept and take offers they should have passed on. Phase 4 changes that.

What you will do

  • Understand the difference between a verbal offer and a guarantee
  • Evaluate scholarship packages — beyond just the number
  • Use leverage from lower offers in conversations with higher programs
  • Navigate the decision without burning relationships you built
  • Choose the school that wants your athlete most — not just the biggest name

Phase Five

Stay
Sharp

The recruiting landscape changes every week. Commits happen. Spots close. Coaches move. Phase 5 gives you the intelligence tools and habits to stay ahead of the process — not behind it. And we haven’t even gotten to the Transfer Portal, yet.

What you will do

  • Monitor the recruiting landscape in real time using social media intelligence
  • Track commitments at your target programs and respond to openings
  • Use the D1ProjX CRM to manage every coach relationship
  • Keep your highlight reel current as your game develops
  • Know when to press harder and when to let the process breathe

Why The Blueprint Exists

Built for
families who
can’t afford
to pay $5,000
for a recruiting
service.

The recruiting process is not a mystery. It is a system. And the families who understand the system get their athletes recruited — regardless of budget, geography, or club affiliation.

We built D1ProjX because we lived this process. Four D1 offers. One Big East commitment. We earned every one of them by following a system that most families never get access to.

The Blueprint is that system. Five phases. Every step. Free.
